Purpose of polices
These policies are established to maintain a safe, respectful, and professional therapeutic environment for all clients and practitioners. By receiving services from this establishment, the client agrees to adhere to the policies outlined herein.
Professional Nature of Services
- All massage therapy services provided are strictly professional, therapeutic, and non-sexual in nature.
- Any behavior, request, or communication that may be reasonably interpreted as sexual or inappropriate is strictly prohibited.
Client Responsibilities and Conduct
Clients agree to the following:
- To communicate respectfully and courteously with all staff.
- To comply with all therapist instructions related to positioning, safety, and therapeutic protocol.
- To refrain from the use of abusive, threatening, or inappropriate language or behavior.
- To present for treatment not under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
- To disclose any relevant medical conditions or changes in health status prior to treatment.
Draping and Clothing Regulations
- Professional draping standards will be maintained at all times.
- Only the area of the body actively being treated will be undraped.
- Genitals and breasts (for clients who have them) will always remain fully covered and will not be massaged.
- Clients may be asked to adjust clothing as appropriate for therapeutic needs; removal of garments must be mutually agreed upon.
Boundaries and Therapist Rights
- Therapists shall provide services only within the scope of their training, licensure, and professional ethics.
- Therapists reserve the right to decline or modify any technique they deem unsafe, inappropriate, or uncomfortable.
- Therapists retain the right to terminate a session at any time if client behavior is inappropriate or violates this policy.
Inappropriate Conduct
The following actions constitute grounds for immediate termination of the session and may result in refusal of future services:
- Sexual comments, suggestions, gestures, or solicitation
- Intentional exposure or self-touching of genital or private areas
- Attempting to touch the therapist or engage in inappropriate physical contact
- Refusal to comply with draping requirements
- Harassment, threats, or aggressive behavior
Full payment for the scheduled service will still be required.
Depending on the severity of the incident, the establishment reserves the right to terminate the therapeutic relationship, notify law enforcement, or file a formal incident report.
Consent & Communication
- The therapist will outline the treatment plan prior to beginning the session.
- Clients may request changes in pressure, technique, or positioning at any time.
- Clients may withdraw consent and end the session at any time.
- Therapists will obtain verbal consent prior to performing work on sensitive areas such as abdomen, gluteal region, chest/pectorals, or inner thigh regions (within legal scope of practice).
Cancellation, Lateness, and Payment Requirements
- Cancellations must be made with 24 hours’ notice.
- Cancelled sessions and late arrivals (may result in a shortened session) still require full pricing of session.
- Repeated late cancellations or no-shows may result in denial of future appointments.
Health, Safety, and Hygiene
Clients shall:
- Not attend appointments when presenting with contagious illnesses.
- Inform the therapist immediately if they feel pain, discomfort, dizziness, or emotional distress.
- Follow all posted and verbal hygiene and safety protocols.
Confidentiality
All client information, treatment notes, and personal details are maintained in strict confidence in accordance with applicable privacy laws. Information will not be released without the client’s written consent unless required by law.
Acknowledgment
By booking or receiving services, the client acknowledges that they have read, understand, and agree to comply with these policies.
